Late Dr. R. M. Lall, M.Com., LL.B., FCA, R.A.S. (Singapore), F.C.C.S. (London), D. Litt., A.C.I.S. (London), A.C.S. (India), founder-partner of the firm, was a distinguished professional in accountancy and academia. Dr. Lall was the first person in the World to earn a Doctor of Literature (D.Litt.) in Accountancy.
Starting his chartered accountancy career in 1950, he remained a practicing Chartered Accountant throughout his life. He held numerous prestigious positions, including Director of the Reserve Bank of India's Northern Area for over a decade, member of the Central Zonal Advisory Board of the Life Insurance Corporation of India and member of the Regional Direct Taxes Advisory Committee and was enlisted with SURF, South Asia of UNDP. He was also a member of the Central Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India for 9 years. He was also a Lecturer/Reader/Acting Head in the Department of Commerce of the University of Lucknow and also at the Singapore Polytechnic.
